Approximately 50 percent of breast cancer patients are treated with chemotherapy drugs as part of their treatment. Only one in four patients treated with chemotherapy derive long-term survival benefit from the therapy. However, all patients endure adverse side effects from chemotherapy treatment. Currently, oncologists have no way of knowing which of their patients will respond to chemotherapy until after the therapy has been completed. Reduction of unnecessary treatment with chemotherapy is a top priority for breast cancer specialists.

Rna Diagnostics’ solution is the RNA Disruption Assay (RDA). RDA is a diagnostics tool that predicts early in treatment if a patient will respond to chemotherapy. Administered after the first, second or third cycle, RDA confirms whether the chemotherapy regimen is effective or alternatively, whether it should be modified or discontinued. RDA accurately measures the effectiveness of cancer drug therapy and will confirm appropriate therapy for responding patients and spare many others from toxic side effects. RDA lowers the cost of breast cancer treatment by reducing unnecessary and ineffective chemotherapy.
